It has been a couple of months since the one of a kind haikai journal shut its doors. I have noticed it to be the fate of several journals these days, and wonder if it has to do with editor-burnout. One does get exhausted with taking care of life while at the same time running a journal. It is a call of passion of course, a volunteer act of utmost love of the word. Perhaps I am jumping to conclusion. I for one, have found association with a journal, and fellow poets is very invigorating. Day job, and other activities that constitute a life aside, curating a journal is really a rewarding experience.
But I digress.
failed_haiku was an exemplary journal and I have enjoyed several hours over the years, browsing through wonderful haikai work published in its electronic pages.
