Dr. Sangita Kalarickal grew up with a love for physics and a healthy dose of creative arts. A physicist by education, Touchstone and Pushcart prize nominee, Sangita writes because she must.
She was the winner of the Gifted Poet Award, Essence of Verse, Women Empowered, 2024.
Sangita’s first chapbook Mamina (Kavya-Adisakrit) was released in March 2023. Her collaborative book Light and Line Drawings (Kavya-Adisakrit) with friend and poet Vidya Shankar was released in March 2026. Her poems and stories have been published in anthologies and several journals.
She is currently the editor-in-chief of Drifting Sands Haibun Journal and when not writing, she spends her remaining free time making pots or in her garden which she shares with urban wildlife mostly happily.
