It is always a thrill to be nominated! Journals usually have so many many poems to choose from and when one of your work makes the cut, it’s a thrill beyond compare. Also the feeling of being seen, being recognized.
Leaf Journal has announced its nominations. And my following haiku has made the cut.
winter sun
the shadows cast
by past sins
This ku came to me on my commute, as I drove past the shadows thrown by the low sun. Thoughts of what I travel past, what I drive towards and more importantly what I leave behind, always stick with me like a leaf spread across the windshield. Clinging on.
Be sure to follow the link above to read the rest of the nominated work. Such stellar haiku, I am honored to be a part of the selected poets!
